Canada’s Home Electrification Toolkit, prepared by the Building Decarbonization Alliance, is an extremely accessible and informative guide to electrifying the systems in your home. It’s primarily written for homeowners but also includes notes for renters and on community initiatives.

It will help you to:

• Understand what options exist for electrifying the major energy consuming systems in your home, and their relative costs and benefits
• Recognize the benefits of electrification beyond reducing carbon emissions, including comfort, convenience, and even cost savings
• Plan for changes and identify the technologies you want to use in your home before choosing a replacement becomes an emergency
